Revd Will Pearson-Gee: Rector

Revd Will Pearson-GeeRevd Will Pearson-Gee was appointed Rector of Buckingham Benefice on Monday 29 March 2010. Will is 48 and with four children - one a teenager and three under six - is a man under pressure! Thankfully he has an amazing wife (Lucia) who enables his ministry wonderfully as well as running their home and being involved in various ministries herself.  He was ordained late in life having had a full career in the Army and then spending six years running a printing business in London. Will studied at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford before being ordained and moving up the road to St Andrew's Church where he served as curate and then as the acting associate minister.  Will is an evangelist at heart but having lost a wife and a son also has a keen interest in helping people deal with bereavement. His interests are music, cookery and photography and getting muddy in the countryside (hopefully doing some sort of field sport). An ideal day off (assuming his family are elsewhere!) would start with a fry-up, a read of the papers and then a long walk hopefully in good weather over some hills armed with a camera.

Revd Philip Derbyshire: Priest and Area Dean

Revd Philip DerbyshirePhilip is Associate Priest with responsibility for Radclive-cum-Chackmore, Beachampton, Thornborough, Thornton with Nash and Whaddon.
Past Life: Philip was born on 16th June 1950, one day after Rowan Williams - this is their only known connection! Philip trained as a solicitor and also worked in Christian publishing and for the MOD before Ordination in 1982. Philip worked as a parish priest for ten years, two of which were in Zimbabwe. Philip has been a prison chaplain at Reading, Holloway and Bullingdon prisons. During this time he was Area Co-ordinator for the Chilterns area for four years and was Assistant National Advisor on World Faith issues. This took him to Berlin where he spoke on religious provision for prisoners of non-Christian faith at the European Chaplains' Conference. He has also worked as a teaching assistant, specialising in supporting children with autism and other special needs issues. During this time he also discovered a talent for directing plays, building scenery and props! Philip is a Governor at Whaddon School.
Interests: Walking, reading (anything!), listening to Mahler, Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Wagner, going to the theatre.
Family: Philip is married to Joy, a qualified teacher who now works as a Behaviour Manager at a comprehensive school in Milton Keynes. Dot, Joy's mum, also lives with them. They are based in Thornborough.

Revd Paul Wigfield: Honorary Assistant Priest

Revd Paul WigfieldMany schools, evacuated to the Lake district, working at an ICI chemical factory, entertaining the troops, and taking part in radio broadcasts, were part of Paul's experience before being ordained in Durham cathedral at Michaelmas 1949, thus celebrated 60 years in the ministry in September 2009. Curacies at Seaham Harbour and in Durham City were followed by appointment as Vicar of Fatfield, a mining/farming parish near Chester le Street. His broadcasting experience, which continued after ordination, led to him being invited to join the staff of the Churches' Television Training Centre in London. Paul remained with the Centre, later known as CTVC, as it developed over the years from one simple studio for training, to four broadcast standard studios and a staff of 100, making religious programmes for, or in co-operation with, the BBC, ITV, Chanel 4, and 'in house' videos for Charities & Education, as well as continuing The TV (and radio) Presentation training for all Churches connected with the British Council of Churches. He was much involved in helping interdenominational groups of Christians up and down the country, who in the early, days of local radio, were given opportunities to produce religious programmes on their new local radio stations. During this time he regularly took Services in parishes in both London and St. Albans' dioceses, thereby keeping firmly in touch with the parish ministry. He retired in 1991 and he and his wife Cicely moved to Buckingham to be within striking distance of their two children, and now, five grandchildren. Assisting with Services in the Benefice means he appreciates being able to continue his ministry and consider himself only 'semi' retired.

She has a real heart to share her faith in a way that people can understand. Prayer is a priority and she is involved in leading housegroups and prayer times. She particularly enjoys leading All Age Worship services.
